Community Service

Over the years, Four Paws Animal Hospital & Wellness Center has been involved in several community projects.

Four Paws has provided free or low-cost medical care to the sick pets sheltered there. By keeping pets healthy, we help make them easier to adopt. In many cases, newly arrived pets have received little to no veterinary care in their lifetime, and have the most to gain from a visit to our doctors.

In addition, we have been a past sponsor of many fundraising events.

Meals on Wheels

Every year we serve as a collection point for Meals on Wheels, sponsored by the Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging. These meals and other items not only benefit seniors but also benefit their pets. Thanks to all of our clients and others in the community for supporting this important outreach program!

Rikki’s Refuge

Four Paws has donated Advantix to Rikki’s Refuge. Louise Arnold Hilliard (PDF), who had a lifelong love for animals, especially cats, donated 331 acres to establish Rikki’s Refuge, a no-kill, all species animal sanctuary in Orange, Virginia, named for her cat. You can make donations to Rikki’s Refuge, PO Box 1357, Orange VA 22960. Items can also be dropped off at their “Re-Tail” thrift shop at 3503 Lafayette Blvd.

K Kids Dachshund Rescue

We are proud to partner with K Kids Dachshund Rescue. This partnership started with “Skipper.” He was about to die from a diabetic crisis, and K Kids immediately agreed to take on his care and find him a new home. Four Paws now provides discounted medical care to all of their foster dogs.
